On January 14, 1967, the Grateful Dead, the Jefferson Airplane, the Charles Lloyd Quartet and and Big Brother played the "Human Be-In" at the Polo Fields in Golden Gate Park. On the bill were Timothy Leary, Richard Alpert, Allen Ginsberg, Laurence Ferlingetti, Gary Snyder, and Michael McClure.
